Go swimming with your iPhone! The app guides users to the most beautiful lakes in and around Munich. About 70 great places to go swimming on 40 lakes are currently features. The list includes classics such as Starnberger See, Tegernsee and Chiemsee, but also discloses many smaller, less well known lakes and lakelets.

The editorial team visited everyone of the featured lakes and provides a host of hot tips. Up to five photos of each lake can be enjoyed in full-screen (landscape) mode.

A Favorites function lets users bookmark their favorite lakes and access them quickly and directly, again and again.

You can sort the lakes in alphabetical order or by district/county.

And if you cant decide which one you want, just shake your iPhone to have a lake chosen for you by the random generator.

The navigation function selects the best route to each spot, guiding you safely even to tiny lakes hidden away in the woods or secluded bays on Bavarias bigger lakes.

And why not tell your friends about your favorite spots? The Share function lets you recommend a lake on Facebook or by e-mail.

But we need your help, too! A Get Involved function allows you to play an active part in expanding the app. While you are using the app, simply send us your ideas or your favorite photos. The editorial team will review every incoming e-mail and constantly add new lakes to the app.

The app has been produced in German and English. So why not let your friends and visitors from abroad get in on the fun as well?

Right now, most of the featured lakes are in and around Munich or in the uplands to the south. However, at least one lake is listed – and within relatively easy reach – for each of the following towns and districts/counties: Munich resp. München, Ebersberg, Wasserburg, Traunstein, Rosenheim, Bad Aibling, Schongau, Weilheim, Starnberg, Bad Tölz, Wolfratshausen, Augsburg, Landsberg am Lech, Kaufbeuren, Kempten, Füssen.
